Truck Load Of Chains Ruined In Snow

Truckload of chains left on Snoqualmie Pass after bout of snowy weather

The Washington State Department of Transportation is working to clear truckloads of chains left on Snoqualmie Pass after snowy weather.

The chains were left scattered along the chain up area on Interstate 90 along Snoqualmie Pass in Washington. The mess comes after several months of cold, snowy weather, including an incident that left 30 semi trucks spun out after they failed to chain up on the pass.

“A break in the weather allowed our crews to pick up chains along I-90 in the eastbound chain up area,” WSDOT wrote in a post on Twitter

“This a fraction of what’s out there! Chains left along the highway causes significant damage to our snow blowers.”

The account goes on to explain that the chains are later picked up by a company and used as scrap metal.
