The California Highway Patrol (CHP) shared video of the electric Tesla Semi taking on icy Donner Summit on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, February 6, CHP says that a “small fast moving storm hit the Summit, bringing snow and ice to the roadway causing a bit of a mess.”
Troopers reported “multiple big rig spinouts” in the area.
Amid the winter weather, CHP’s Truckee Division shared video featuring the new Tesla Semi battling icy conditions at Donner’s Summit.
While some critics have questioned how the Tesla Semi will operate in bad weather, makers at Tesla say that they’ve tested the vehicle in a “variety of harsh conditions to maximize reliability and durability.”
